England manager Thomas Tuchel believes Jude Bellingham could be fit when England return to action next month, with three Manchester United stars potentially in the mix.
Manager Thomas Tuchel is “optimistic” that Jude Bellingham will be fit to represent England next month – and opened the World Cup door for Manchester United’s outcast trio.
Real Madrid superstar Bellingham suffered a hamstring injury last month, with some reports in Spain suggesting the England midfielder could be out until April. But Tuchel said he was in regular contact and was hopeful that Bellingham could be available for England’s final two friendlies against Uruguay and Japan before taking part in this summer’s World Cup.
England boss Tuchel also confirmed that he is ready to welcome Kobie Mainoo, Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw back into United’s starting XI under caretaker manager Michael Carrick.
Tuchel insisted Bellingham is fit to represent England in March, saying: “The club is a little more defensive about the outlook for the next few weeks until his recovery.”

“Jude is pushing and, as we know, he is determined and very professional. He will make every effort to be with us in March.”
“Of course, we are in touch. That is normal and we wish him the best. Whatever we can do for him, we will help and support him. This is a small race against time. Personally, I am optimistic, but I am not sure.”
Tuchel was at West Ham on Tuesday night and was positive that all three players could be added ahead of March and the World Cup.
All three have fallen off England’s radar after losing their place in United’s set-up, but Tuchel remains keen on Mainu and was positive about both defenders.
Asked about Maynou, Tuchel added: “He’s definitely back in the frame! First of all, it’s great to have him back on the pitch. He’s a very great talent. He’s a very good player.”
“He has already played for England from start to finish in the tournament, with Luke Shaw and Harry Maguire also back on the scene.
“We have some players who have suddenly come back. They are playing with a back four now and a different style that fits into our setup a little bit better at the moment. It’s good competition.”
