Liverpool were hit by another injury after Wataru Endo left the pitch on a stretcher against Sunderland with a leg problem.
Wataru Endo suffered a worrying injury in the match against Sunderland and left the pitch in tears as he was carried away on a stretcher. The 33-year-old appeared to have his foot caught in the grass while stretching to clear the ball.
He initially tried to stand up and continue, but soon collapsed to the grass in obvious discomfort. After a long stop, medics placed him on a stretcher and he was carried away.
It is the latest in a series of injury problems for Liverpool manager Arne Slott, who is already without Conor Bradley, Jeremy Frimpong and Alexander Isak.
Endo was lacking in that area of the pitch, so he covered at right-back. He was replaced by Joe Gomez, who also returned from injury.

The incident happened after Virgil van Dijk gave the Reds the lead on Wearside. The Dutchman was headed home by Khabib Diarra from a corner kick, but could only send the ball into the roof of the net on his own goal line.
Endo joined Liverpool from German club VfV Stuttgart in August 2013 for a fee of £16 million. He has also starred in his native Japan and Belgium.
He has 72 caps for his country and will be hoping injury will keep him out of this summer’s World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
Van Dijk’s goal was enough to secure all three points for the Reds and hand Sunderland their first home defeat of the Premier League season.
With this win, Liverpool are aiming to qualify for next season’s Champions League, moving to within two points of fifth-placed Chelsea and within three points of fourth-placed Manchester United.
