Manchester City’s new signing Antoine Semenyo says he and his teammates are keen to get a win against Liverpool at Anfield as they chase Arsenal in the title race.
Manager Antoine Semenyo has warned Liverpool that Manchester City are “dedicated” to Sunday’s showdown on Merseyside.
Josep Guardiola has won just once in 10 attempts at Anfield since taking over as City manager in 2016. The victory was secured without spectators due to the coronavirus pandemic. Guardiola knows he cannot afford to make any more mistakes this time as he aims to rebuild Arsenal into title contention.
If the league leaders beat Sunderland, City could be nine points behind Arsenal by the time manager Arne Slott’s clash begins.

The pressure is on for City to defeat their arch-rival. And Semenyo admitted Guardiola’s side are primed for one of the most explosive prizes of the season.
“As an outsider before joining here, I always enjoyed watching City and Liverpool. I’m very grateful to be part of it, but it’s going to be a challenge,” he said.
“But we’re ready and we’re going to be fired up on the day. We’re looking forward to the game.”
Meanwhile, manager Marc Guehy has warned Arsenal that he fully believes City can go from strength to strength between now and the end of the season and win another title. “We are definitely moving in the right direction. It’s important that we continue to improve as a team,” Guehi said.
“Winning a match in any competition is a huge thing, so as long as we keep going like this, I don’t see why we can’t achieve our goals for this season.”
