Jude Bellingham was sent off with a hamstring injury in Real Madrid’s 2-1 win over Rayo Vallecano on Sunday, sparking fears he will miss out on the World Cup.
Jude Bellingham has given a three-word update on his road to recovery from a hamstring injury. England star Bellingham collapsed in the eighth minute of Real Madrid’s match against Rayo Vallecano on Sunday and was immediately substituted.
Bellingham walked down the tunnel in tears after receiving treatment for his left hamstring. The midfielder is currently expected to miss Real’s crucial Champions League play-off match against Benfica and is expected to be out for four weeks.
On the England front, Bellingham should be fit for the Three Lions’ two friendlies against Uruguay and Japan at the end of March, well before the start of the World Cup in June. The 22-year-old is now using social media to update his fans.
Bellingham posted a selfie of himself wearing an oxygen mask on the app JB5. “Life goes on,” the former Borussia Dortmund star wrote in the caption.

After Real won 2-1 thanks to Kylian Mbappé’s second-half penalty, manager Alvaro Arbeloa admitted he “knew nothing” about Bellingham’s injury at the time. The club then published a medical report on its website on Monday.
It read: “As a result of the tests carried out today by Real Madrid’s medical services on our player Jude Bellingham, he has been diagnosed with an injury to the semitendinosus muscle in his left foot. We are awaiting further developments.”
According to reports from Spain, recovery will take four weeks. Bellingham has only played twice for England this season and was only included in one of three squads.
In preparation for the September match, the Birmingham City academy graduate was returning to full fitness following shoulder surgery. But when it came time for manager Thomas Tuchel to announce his next squad, Bellingham’s name was clearly not included.

In November, Bellingham rejoined the team, with England having qualified for the World Cup the previous month. He started the Three Lions’ 2-0 win over Albania, but faced backlash after reacting sullenly when he was replaced by Tuchel.
“It’s a decision and he has to accept it,” the England manager said after the match. “His friends are waiting on the sidelines. Accept that, respect that and keep going.”
Tuchel added: “It will have to be looked at, but I can see that he is not happy. I don’t think he wants to get any bigger than he is at the moment. A player like Jude is very competitive and will never like it.”
“My word stands. It’s about standards and levels. It’s about commitment and respect for each other. We’re not going to change our decisions just because someone waves their arm.”
