The January period ended with the climax of transfer deadline day. Hundreds of millions of pounds have been spent between Premier League teams this month.
Manchester City made their biggest splash, spending nearly £85m to sign Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace and Antoine Semenyo from Bournemouth. Meanwhile, when it comes to transfer saga, there are few as bitter as Jean-Philippe Mateta’s attempt to leave Crystal Palace.
He informed Oliver Glasner’s side of his intention to leave and saw his move to Nottingham Forest and AC Milan collapse in the eleventh hour. At the end of the market, Liverpool also dealt a big blow to Chelsea with a transfer.

The Blues thought they would end their run with talented 20-year-old defender Jeremy Jacquet after agreeing personal terms. But Arne Slott’s team swooped in and sealed a big-money deal for the defender right under the noses of west Londoners after they decided it was too difficult to negotiate with his team, Rennes.
One of the most lucrative transfers was the big move of Jorgen Strand Larsen to Selhurst Park. The South Londoners broke the club’s transfer record by signing the Norwegian from Wolverhampton Wanderers in a major deal.

Tottenham also had a busy transfer window. Thomas Frank’s side responded to their huge injury list by signing Conor Gallagher from Atletico Madrid and Souza from Brazilian side Santos.
After the January transfer window closes, Mirror Football will investigate all transfers confirmed in the Premier League during this period.
