Jude Bellingham stumbled off the pitch in tears after collapsing with a hamstring injury early in Real Madrid’s 2-1 La Liga win over Rayo Vallecano.
Real Madrid manager Alvaro Arbeloa has admitted he does not know the severity of Jude Bellingham’s injury amid fears he could miss out on the World Cup. England star Bellingham went down clutching his left hamstring just eight minutes into Sunday’s home match against Rayo Vallecano.
The midfielder was in tears as he made his way down the tunnel, sparking fears he had suffered a serious injury that would end his hopes of playing for England at the World Cup. After the match, Arbeloa was asked to provide an update.
“I don’t know anything about Bellingham yet,” Arevola said at a news conference. The 22-year-old is almost certain to miss next Sunday’s match between Real and Valencia.
Brahim Díaz, who replaced Bellingham, helped give Real an early lead with an assist for Vinicius Junior. However, Vallecano hit back just after half-time and were minutes away from a valuable draw.

However, the away team was reduced to 10 players in the final stages and conceded a penalty kick in the 8th minute of stoppage time. Kylian Mbappe calmly scored this, leaving Vallecano with a heartbroken look on his face.
Coach Arbeloa added, “The players made a great effort.” “We have a lot to work on. We’re going to work on it right now with no games this week. This was a victory for the soul.”
Regarding the unconvincing nature of the victory, the Spaniard confessed: “We need to improve with and without the ball. I’ve said it many times, the ideal team is one where everyone thinks the same way. We’ll have plenty of time over the next two weeks to instill that.”

Real are currently within one point of leaders Barcelona in the La Liga title race, but the day was marred by Bellingham’s injury. As well as England playing their final two friendlies ahead of the World Cup in eight weeks’ time, Arbeloa’s side are also heading into a crucial match that could decide whether he remains in charge beyond the end of the season.
Real, who were eliminated from the last eight of the Champions League on Wednesday, will face Benfica in the play-offs. Coincidentally, it was Benfica who defeated the 15-time European champions 4-2 in midweek to book themselves a place in the play-offs.
These matches will take place later this month.
