Manager William Saliba is adamant Arsenal can win all four trophies on offer this season, saying their depth is a major strength as they aim to win their first-ever quadruple title.
William Saliba claims Arsenal will have a ‘quad squad’ in the belief they can dominate the boards and rewrite history. No team has ever won the Premier League, Champions League and domestic cup titles in one campaign.
But Arsenal head into the home straight with a chance to win all four trophies they have contested so far. This would put them ahead of Manchester United and City, who won the Treble under Sir Alex Ferguson and Josep Guardiola.
There’s a reason no team has ever won a quadruple. That’s because it’s still nearly impossible to achieve. But when asked if he thought Mikel Arteta’s men were capable, Saliba had no doubts.
“Of course we want to win every competition. We have the team for that, we have the coach for that. So, yeah, we have to keep moving forward and of course we have to focus on every competition.”
“Yeah, obviously, we’ve got a good team this season. We’ve got a lot of good players. Guys who don’t start can start as well. They’re at a level where they can start games, too. So, yeah, everybody’s ready, everybody’s ready to step up when we need to.”

Arsenal arrived at Elland Road by bus rather than by plane due to heavy fog at Leeds/Bradford Airport. Meanwhile, Arteta had captain Bukayo Saka withdraw from the match after suffering a hip problem during the warm-up. However, Arteta’s side looked up as Martin Zvimendi headed home inside 27 minutes.
Leeds have lost just twice at home this season and once in their last 11 games. But on what was expected to be a difficult afternoon for Arteta’s men, it turned out to be nothing like that. A disastrous scuffle between Karl Darlow and Dominic Calvert-Lewin saw Noni Madueke’s corner kick go over the line.
Victor Goqueres and substitute Gabriel Jesus added two more goals after the break as Leeds suffered their heaviest home defeat of the season.
Arsenal produce functional rather than fairytale football, which may be why they lack fans. This also showed power, control, set-pieces and calm finishing. It was the perfect response to the fiasco of going winless in three league games.
And whatever the outcome of the title race, Saliba insists Arsenal will insist on doing things their way. “It was very important to win because we weren’t happy with our performance at home last week. We conceded three goals and lost those points, which we don’t like,” he said.
“We wanted to show that it was a mistake that can happen and now we’ve got a clean sheet against a good team and gone back to basics. It’s never easy to win at Elland Road, so yeah, everyone is happy with the performance, defensively and attackingly.”
Arsenal host Chelsea on Tuesday in the second leg of the League Cup semi-final. And Saliba knows that winning the competition can be the springboard to greatness. He added: “If we get to the Carabao Cup final, I think it will be the first final of all. We have to prove that we want to win everything.”
