Raheem Sterling’s contract with Chelsea has been terminated and Tottenham are currently considering a move for the forward, who played for two of their London rivals.
Tottenham are considering a move for Raheem Sterling after his contract with Chelsea was brought to an early end on a mutual buyout, giving him more room to explore the market.
The former Manchester City man suffered a notable death in recent years, leaving him frozen in west London. He has not played since being loaned to Arsenal last season, but various clubs are currently targeting him.
Tottenham are one of the teams considering a move for the England international, who has scored 123 Premier League goals during his career. Despite links with London’s biggest rivals Chelsea and Arsenal, they remain interested in a move, reports the Daily Mail.
Sterling has struggled to display the form that made him one of Manchester City’s key attacking weapons in the early days of Josep Guardiola’s tenure. His spell at Chelsea was impressive even before he was sacked.
However, Tottenham need reinforcements in the final third due to injuries to Richarlison and Dominic Solanke, as well as the inconsistent form of Randal Kolo Muani and Matthijs Tell. Sterling will have to prove he has not played in the Premier League for a long period of 250 days.

Sterling was rumored to be signed by Fulham and other clubs in the summer, but the move never materialized. Despite interest from abroad, his hope is to remain in London. Napoli and Juventus are among the European clubs considering approaches for Sterling.
Sterling was approached by several clubs during his time at Chelsea about a loan move, but the player has said he would prefer a permanent deal in order to gain stability to revive his career. The 31-year-old will last play for England in 2022.
A statement from Chelsea regarding the player’s departure said: “Raheem Sterling has today left Chelsea Football Club by mutual agreement, bringing to an end a three-and-a-half season playing career that saw him join from Manchester City in the summer of 2022. We would like to thank Raheem for his contribution during his time at Chelsea and wish him all the best in the next stage of his career.”
Sterling was named FWA Player of the Year in 2019, as well as PFA Young Player of the Year and Team of the Year in the same year.
