Chelsea and Raheem Sterling have reached an agreement for the player to leave Stamford Bridge early, with the former Manchester City star having no shortage of suitors willing to sign him.
Raheem Sterling’s agents are in talks with seven different elite-level clubs after his contract with Chelsea was terminated by mutual consent on Wednesday.
The former Manchester City star, 31, was frozen out by the Blues before leaving the club and spent last season on loan at Arsenal. He joined Chelsea in the summer of 2022 for a fee of £47.5m, making him the club’s highest earner on a weekly wage of £325,000, but he has never been able to replicate the form that made him a regular in Manchester City’s domestically dominant side.
Despite speculation over the summer, a move for Sterling never materialized. However, the former England winger is now a free agent and there appears to be no shortage of suitors.

Sky Sports reported that the player’s agent is in talks with seven clubs at Champions League level who would like to sign Sterling, who is available for transfer outside the transfer window as a free agent.
It is noted that Sterling wants to make his next move as soon as possible due to his desire to continue playing at an elite level.
It was previously claimed that Sterling’s wage demands and desire to remain in or near London were a hindrance to a sale to Chelsea, but he is now understood to be open to leaving London.
Fulham and Napoli were among the clubs keen to sign Sterling in the summer. The former QPR academy graduate last played in a game at Arsenal at the end of May.
Chelsea wished Sterling the best of luck for the future in a statement confirming he would leave Stamford Bridge 18 months before the end of his contract. “Raheem Sterling has today left Chelsea Football Club by mutual consent, bringing to an end three and a half seasons as our player, having signed from Manchester City in the summer of 2022.”
“We would like to thank Raheem for his contribution during his time as a Chelsea player and wish him every success in the next stage of his career.”
