The design of Manchester United’s third kit for next season has been ‘leaked’ online, featuring a badge that has been the subject of much debate among fans.
Opinions are divided among Manchester United supporters after the design of the club’s third kit for the 2026-27 season was ‘published’ online. The cream and red outfit boasts a centrally located crest.
With the departure of Ruben Amorim, it remains unclear who will be in charge when United officially announce their squad for the 2026/27 season. But caretaker manager Michael Carrick has reinforced that claim with a perfect start to his second spell at Old Trafford.
His side beat local rivals Manchester City 2-0 in their opening game and then won 3-2 against Premier League pacesetters Arsenal on Sunday. Just weeks after Amorim’s departure, goals from Brian Mbeumo, Patrick Dorg and Matheus Cunha secured all three points for Carrick’s side at the Emirates.
For this latest victory, United’s players wore the existing black and yellow third strip. However, on the same day as this success, X’s social media accounts shared a concept design for a kit which they claim will be United’s third outfit next season. Supporters were divided over the central placement of the badge.

X users have suggested that United’s third kit for the upcoming campaign will be predominantly cream-coloured, featuring red detailing similar to the current away kit. Similarities between the kits are maintained by the inclusion of the Red Devil emblem.

This badge also appears in the third strip of the 2023/24 season, sharing some design features with next season’s ‘Leak’ concept. This kit was cloud white and marked the first time that only the red devil’s emblem appeared on the strip.
Fans have been sharing their opinions in the comments below the post, with some giving positive feedback on the badge placement. One person wrote, “I like the retro look with all the logos in the middle.”
Another wrote: “Finally some nice kits out there.” A fourth supporter questioned the location of the badge but praised the design, writing: “Don’t hate me. I don’t really like it when kit makers put it on top of the badge, but I think it’s fine.”
However, some were less enthusiastic about what United’s third kit could be next campaign, and where the emblem would be placed. One person commented: “Are you kidding? That’s disgusting.”
A second said: “I don’t understand the trend of shirts with badges in the middle.” Meanwhile, a third person argued: “I think the logo would be better in the traditional layout.”
It will still be some time before fans see United players wearing the strip for the 2026/27 season. And Carrick’s second season has gotten off to a very promising start, so they may be hoping that shows in the Champions League. However, despite their victory over Arsenal moving them above Liverpool into the top four, Carrick remains cautious in his approach to qualifying for Europe.
After Arsenal’s win, Carrick said: “From our point of view we know we’re just moving on to the next game.” “We’ve only been together for less than two weeks, so I don’t think we can think too far ahead.
“We’re definitely not going to do that anyway. I know it’s obvious, but if you think too far ahead, it can come back and really hurt you. So we’ve been taking this week week by week, game by game, and we’ll definitely continue to do that.”
