Preston North End star Milutin Osmadić has now spoken out after being sent off for headbutting John Lundstram late in the game against Hull City.
Preston forward Milutin Osmazdic has apologized for his headbutt on John Lundstram. The Montenegrin forward was sacked for the incident late in the team’s 3-0 defeat to Hull City in midweek.
Osmajic will now serve a three-match suspension, the latest chapter in a string of breaches of discipline during his time at Preston, and will see him miss 20 service matches in the past 16 months. He was also suspended for eight games for biting Blackburn’s Owen Beck and nine games for allegedly racially abusing Burnley star Hannibal Mabry.
“I’m here to say I’m sorry to everyone for my actions in Tuesday night’s game against Hull. One wrong decision and one moment of stupidity led to me being sent off and I’m incredibly angry at myself for that,” Osamudzic wrote on Instagram days after his latest indiscretion.
“In that moment, I let my emotions get the best of me and let my coach, teammates and fans down. I know I have to be more in control in situations like this.

“It’s disappointing to have to miss three games due to suspension because all I want to do is score goals, help the team win and put smiles on all the fans’ faces. I have a great relationship with everyone at North Enders and I hope that continues.”
“We’ve had a very good season so far and I want to contribute to the team’s success. My biggest wish is to help this team get promoted to the Premier League.”
“I love all the PNE fans and I love this club. Once again, I am very sorry for my actions. Millie.”
Osmajic’s suspension means he will miss promotion-chasing Middlesbrough’s upcoming match against Ipswich, as well as the home game against Portsmouth. Preston manager Paul Heckingbottom delivered his verdict on the forward’s actions, saying: “The lack of discipline is totally unacceptable. If he gets three games for that while I’m here, that’s 20 games missed.”
“Those are different issues, don’t get me wrong, but there’s a big difference between getting sent off for a tackle and helping the team.”
Osmajic, 26, joined Preston from Spanish side Cadiz in 2023. He has made 91 appearances for the club, scoring 28 goals, five of which have come this season.
