Brooklyn Peltz Beckham has received sympathy from a former academy football coach who revealed he witnessed “strange behavior” and “strange dynamics” during an explosive rift with his family. The high-profile feud escalated this week, with Brooklyn supporting his wife Nicola Peltz and targeting Sir David Beckham and Victoria Beckham in a shocking twist.

Brooklyn, 26, released a bombshell statement slamming her parents David and Victoria, saying she “doesn’t want to reconcile” with them. Brooklyn accused his family of telling stories about him to the press, while rifts began to form between his wedding and his wife Nicola Peltz Beckham.

One of the biggest talking points in the statement was that Brooklyn accused his mother Victoria, 51, of “hijacking” her first dance with Nicola and “dancing inappropriately” in front of 500 wedding guests. He is currently the only family member to share his side of the nasty feud, with sources revealing to the Mirror that he has “no regrets” about speaking out.

A former Brooklyn football coach has highlighted what he’s noticed about family relationships since he was a teenager, as the family turmoil garners attention. Brooklyn trained with Queens Park Rangers in 2013, at just 14 years old, with his sights set on a career in professional sport.

QPR’s official Twitter account (now X) tweeted at the time: “Contrary to reports, Brooklyn Beckham trains at #QPR but does not join our academy.” During that time, he would have worked alongside McCool, a former academy coach at the London club who also spent time scouting.

Following all the drama and family rifts surrounding Brooklyn, former QPR coach Anthony McCool has taken to LinkedIn to share his experience of the Beckham family dynamic. He said, “Brooklyn Beckham overlapped. But I felt bad for that kid.”

“I saw him continue to do strange things as his football coach at QPR, and I certainly saw him feeling uneasy. He may have misunderstood the situation, but I’m not taking sides, because I don’t know them and his parents have always been polite to me. But I’ve seen for myself, as a parent and as a young man, a strange dynamic where it’s impossible to judge and predict how we will navigate this situation.”

“I got a glimpse of that life, and it left me with some funny stories and some sad ones, and I realized how difficult it must have been for the boy. Still, I have coached many young people, mostly famous soccer players, and many young people with famous parents. But this spell was on a different, more serious level.”

“It would be a good chapter in my book. It opened my eyes. Being super rich and famous is not automatically a ticket to happiness. It’s hard to ‘sympathize’ or empathize because most of us will never know.”

“But having been surrounded by permanent security at the age of 14 and seeing so much more has made me realize that you shouldn’t judge just because you haven’t walked a mile in their shoes. To be fair, I’m sure they’ll close the ranks and settle their differences. I hope so (and thank you, David, for giving me back that £6).”

The fallout from the family feud remains in the public eye, and questions remain as to whether the two sides will eventually reconcile.

But this is a particularly graphic situation given the allegations Brooklyn has made against his own family. Following his son’s comments, David Beckham shared his thoughts on CNBC’s Squawk Box.

David said, “I’ve been able to leverage my platform and my following for UNICEF, and it’s been the biggest tool to let people know what’s going on for children around the world. I’ve been trying to do the same thing. I’ve been trying to do the same thing to educate kids.”

“They make mistakes. Kids are allowed to make mistakes. That’s how they learn. So that’s what I try to teach them. But sometimes you have to let kids make mistakes too.”
