Paphos manager Albert Celades was caught off guard when the turn of questions at a press conference at Stamford Bridge went to David Beckham and his family.
Paphos manager Albert Celades looked a little confused when asked about the falling out between David and Brooklyn Beckham after his team’s loss to Chelsea. Celades almost led the Cypriot side to a famous result at Stamford Bridge before Moises Caicedo handed the Blues victory.
But instead of watching a soccer-focused press conference, Celades, who was Beckham’s teammate at Real Madrid, was asked a completely different question. Mr Celades was asked if he had followed the drama surrounding the former England captain and his son.
The Beckham family is in turmoil after Brooklyn released an explosive statement making several accusations about his parents. Brooklyn’s unhappiness centers on David and Victoria’s alleged attempts to “ruin” his relationship with wife Nicola Peltz, and Brooklyn claims he felt he had “no choice but to talk, to tell the truth” about their family feud.
Understandably, Celades may have been a little surprised and uncomfortable by the question. The 50-year-old Spaniard started his career at Barcelona before spending five years at Real Madrid while Beckham was at the Bernabéu.
The Paphos coach answered reporters tersely, admitting that the question had nothing to do with the match that took place and that he did not want to say anything about the family feud.

Celades has only been at Paphos for two weeks, replacing Juan Carlos Calcedo, but he has tasted victory before in west London. The Spaniard led Valencia to victory over Frank Lampard’s side in 2019.
The former Spain international was unable to call up former Chelsea defender David Luiz on Wednesday night, but the news has him confronting his past and ties to Beckham.
Brooklyn’s most eye-catching claim was that stylish Spice Victoria performed a highly inappropriate dance with her at their 2022 wedding. She is also said to have “hijacked” his first dance with wife Nicola.

Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior avoided similar questions and was able to focus on the team’s progress after taking over following the departure of Enzo Maresca. Despite winning three of their first four matches, Rosenior still needs to impress their supporters.
“We need to stay focused on the job of winning as many games as possible,” he said. “Well, I can’t influence how people judge me or prejudge what’s going on.
“Well, from my point of view, I’m really excited about how much our team, the youth of our team, can improve the future of the club. And I think with little things, little adjustments, little improvements, this team can go a long way.”
“I hope the fans are with us and they’re with me. But for that we have to earn it. It’s a two-way street.”
