Bruno Fernandes says ‘enough is enough’, Manchester United managers fear transfer will be forced to end | Soccer | Sports

Manchester United bosses fear Bruno Fernandes has had “enough” and is reportedly looking to move away from Old Trafford in the near future. The midfielder has been a key player for the Red Devils since joining the club from Sporting in 2020. He remains locked up until 2027, but there is growing talk of a possible exit.

United bosses are now reportedly worried that Fernandes could seek to leave the club as the season draws to a close. According to i, there is a “general concern” that the Red Devils captain will leave because he is “tired of it”.

The midfielder is highly regarded by everyone at the club for his work both on and off the pitch, but there are doubts about his desire to continue driving United forward almost single-handedly.

He still harbors ambitions of winning the league, but that won’t happen at United unless fundamental improvements are made across the board over the next few seasons.

The paper added that Fernandes has a good relationship with Amorim and could be on his way to leave as another interim head coach is appointed and a new head coach could be appointed in the summer.

A move to Saudi Arabia seems the most likely option, but he could also join another top European club. Bayern Munich are one of the teams thought to be monitoring his situation at United.

Fernandes’ contract is said to have a clause that would allow him to join teams outside England for around £57 million.

He recently spoke about how he came so close to joining the Saudi Pro League last year, saying, “I felt like the club said, ‘It’s not that bad for us if you go.’ It hurt a little bit. I’m more sad than hurt.”

“I’m a player that no one can criticize. I’m always available and always do my best. I don’t think it’s a matter of money. There’s a big difference between us and Saudi Arabia, but financially there’s nothing to complain about.”

“If I ever go to Saudi Arabia to play, I will. It won’t be for the money. I will go because it will change my lifestyle. After six years of cold and rain in Manchester, my children’s lives will be sunny, because I will be playing in a growing league.”

“I had the same passion and empathy for the club, but I reached a point where money was more important to the club than you. The club wanted me to leave.

“I told the managers that I didn’t think they had the courage to make that decision because the manager wanted me. But if I said I wanted to leave, I think the club would forgive me, even if the manager wanted me to stay.”
