Laura Woods has shared a photo of the “super graphic” injuries she sustained in a freak accident in 2024. TV presenter Laura Woods was rushed to hospital when she accidentally broke a lampshade and it fell on her while on holiday with partner Adam Collard.
At the time, Woods was forced to withdraw from covering the fight between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk. However, Woods, who has returned to work some time after the accident, shared images of his injury and resulting recovery on social media.
She wrote on her Instagram Story, “Okay, let’s talk about scars…this is me a few days before the accident. Injury alert. The following photos are too graphic so don’t look at them if you’re not comfortable with them.”
She later posted an image of her bloody eyebrows and eyes after the accident, writing: “It was a very bad day and these cuts ended up going all the way to the bone. But somehow I couldn’t see. The back of my arm was also a bit dirty, but I can’t see that part.”
“I ended up driving five hours to London to see a specialist plastic surgeon. That part wasn’t too bad. I did a lot of red light therapy and Five Guys,” Woods wrote alongside an image of her with a bandage on her eyebrow.

Woods went on to talk about his recovery and later shared an image of his swollen eye. “Then the ‘ugly’ stage began, where the scar appeared to be receding. I called this stage the Bear Grylls stage.”
Woods then took time off from her injury to focus on returning to television work, getting pregnant with her son Leo, and getting long-term treatment for her scar. The 38-year-old added: “I returned to work for the 24th leg of the Champions League final. I found out I was pregnant all along so I stopped any treatment and focused on growing this little one.”
“I’m still very conscious of it, even though I think I’m a million times better than before. I’m trying the big F laser to see if it can make the scar less noticeable. I’ll let you know the results.”
“If you want, you can locate the scar, but your skin is different than the rest of your face. And it’s totally revealing, but it hurt. It cost money, too. It looks like it was put in a toaster. But I hope it’s worth it.”
Woods then solicited questions from her followers, including one asking if the scar had affected her self-confidence. She answered: “You’re right. I loved taking selfies. If you smile or frown, you can see the scars in the photo.”

“But now that I have a baby, I don’t have to worry about that anymore. I don’t forget to eat and brush my teeth, haha.”
When another fan asked if it was possible to embrace scars, she replied: “Yes, you should try. But I think scars mean different things to different people. I never assume how others feel. This is for people who are ‘seeking’ help. For example, in my case, it’s a constant reminder of a terrible memory.”
