Arsenal star Ben White has struggled for minutes in recent days and there are reports that he is eyeing a move to Liverpool as there is so much competition at the Emirates.
Ben White will jump at the chance to join Liverpool as Arsenal’s future becomes increasingly uncertain, according to Danny Murphy.
The versatile star has been an integral part of the Gunners’ development under manager Mikel Arteta, who arrived from Brighton for £50m a few years ago. With the rise of William Saliba, he was pushed to right-back, but over the past year he has been reduced to a bit role.
White was left out of the starting XI due to a serious knee injury and Julian Timber’s sensational performance. That means England players are struggling for game time across the backline.
Despite Arsenal’s desire to keep the former Brighton defender, there is talk that he is seeking a challenge elsewhere, with Liverpool being touted as a possible destination. They are evaluating their backline options, especially with Ibrahima Konate’s contract coming to an end, which could provide him with more playing time.
Murphy told Boyle Sports: “It makes sense for Ben White to go to Liverpool, but Arsenal may not want to sell to a rival. It depends on how adamant the player is about wanting to go. If Ben White is an option, I think it would be a good option for Liverpool.”

“I think he’s a really good footballer and he’s a great player. Yes, he’s had some injury problems recently, but he’s an experienced guy, he’s played a lot of games and he can play at centre-back or right-back.
“I don’t know why he wouldn’t push through with that move, although it’s strange to think that Arsenal would let him go if Liverpool were keen. Or maybe they just think they’re too far ahead of Liverpool anyway, so we’ll have to see how it goes.”
Liverpool’s Merseyside rivals Everton are also said to be interested, but a move to Anfield would give White the chance to challenge for honours. The defender is looking to reignite his international career, which stalled under Gareth Southgate.
Arsenal’s summer recruitment campaign saw them bring in a number of new defenders, further intensifying the competition for White. Piero Hinakpie and Cristian Mosquera have both joined the Emirates, but White has only started four Premier League games as things stand.
