Mohamed Salah was left at home by Arne Slott on Tuesday night as Liverpool travel to face Inter Milan in the Champions League, with the team rallying for a big win.
Andy Robertson hopes Liverpool can resolve their differences with Mohamed Salah after four days of intense drama at the club. Salah was left out of the traveling squad to face Inter Milan on Tuesday, and the team responded with an emphatic 1-0 win in Italy.
Arne Slott and the Liverpool bosses took the bold decision to keep Salah on Merseyside for the Champions League after he openly criticized the manager in a post-match interview on Saturday. Salah accused Slott of throwing him under the bus after being left on the bench for three games in a row.
The club legend’s accusations upset the team, but they were successful at San Siro, with Dominik Szoboszlai’s late penalty giving them victory. It remains to be seen whether Salah will return for Saturday’s Premier League game against Brighton, but it is clear what Robertson wants.
“It’s a tough situation. We’re talking about one of the greatest players to play for this club,” the left-back told Prime Video after the final whistle. “I signed in the same window as him and have been through a lot of ups and downs. Whatever happened, what happened happened. We’re all in the locker room together and you’ll see that today.”

When asked about Salah’s future, he added: “That depends on other people, it has nothing to do with me. I love playing with Mo Salah and I want to continue playing with him.”
Ibrahima Konate’s goal was ruled out by VAR for handball before the referee gave Liverpool a chance to win the game in the closing stages. Szoboszlai confidently took the spot-kick after Florian Wirtz collapsed in the box after his shirt was pulled by Alessandro Bastoni.
“It’s a great result,” Robertson said. “We knew we were in a tough spot against a team that was going through a good period. We needed to put up a fight and bite back. The clean sheet was crucial and then we went for the goals.”
“I think the handball for me took seven or eight minutes. If you’re going to do that, you have to stick to the decision on the field. You have to stick to that decision. The penalty looked soft, but it’s something that can be awarded elsewhere on the pitch.”
“We all needed it. We know that the results and performances weren’t good enough. It’s important for this club to qualify for the Champions League. It was a big result for all of us.”
