Mohamed Salah has been offered an offer to potentially follow in Cristiano Ronaldo’s footsteps
Mohamed Salah has been presented with an offer from Piers Morgan, which will make Liverpool’s bosses increasingly nervous. The Egyptian forward claimed he had been “thrown under the bus” and made it clear he had nothing to do with head coach Arne Slott after being benched again for Saturday’s game against Leeds.
Following his outburst, Liverpool left him out of their squad for Tuesday’s Champions League game against Inter Milan. Saudi Pro League clubs are closely monitoring developments ahead of the start of the season in January, and there is a good chance Salah will play his final game for the Reds.
With the relationship between the club and the player in a delicate situation, broadcaster Morgan sent Salah an invitation. Morgan’s infamous sit-down with Cristiano Ronaldo sealed the Portuguese icon’s fate during his second spell at Manchester United.

In response to Salah’s nasty comments, Morgan posted on X: “Wow… time for an interview @MoSalah?”
Back in November 2022, Ronaldo gave an explosive interview to Morgan in which he denied ownership of the Glazers, criticized the club’s facilities and attacked then-manager Erik ten Hag. United immediately terminated his contract, paving the way for him to move to Al Nasr, where he remains to this day.
Ronaldo’s revelations divided opinion among supporters. Some United fans praised his candor and argued the club needed to face an uncomfortable reality.
However, some criticized it as a childish tantrum from a player who was disappointed in his sentimental homecoming. Liverpool, and Slott in particular, will be furious that Salah does not accept Morgan’s offer.
At this point, the solution seems far-fetched, but it’s not entirely impossible. But any more public abuse from the 33-year-old, especially against a high-profile figure like Morgan, could spell the end of his time at Anfield.
The Reds also need to consider the potential impact on the rest of the team. Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker confessed: “This is not a happy situation for us because on a personal level we all love Mo.”
“He’s a very important player for the team, a great human being, a great football player and a very important member of the club.”
He continued: “We were a bit surprised[by Salah’s comments]but we know this is a personal situation so we will leave that between him and the club. What we believe is not part of the story.”
“What we hope is that he and the club come to an agreement that is in the best interests of him, the club and all the players and staff. I hope he will play for the club again. It is a personal matter between Mo and the club.”
“As his team-mates and friends we want what’s best for him, but as a Liverpool FC player we want what’s best for the club. We want a win-win situation for everyone.”
