Liverpool talisman Mohamed Salah’s explosive comments about his relationship with Arne Slott and his future at Anfield quickly became a hot topic online.
Mohamed Salah shocked the football world on Saturday night by claiming that Liverpool had “thrown him under the bus” and that his relationship with Arne Slott had completely broken down.
Slott was on the bench for the third consecutive game in the 3-3 draw with Leeds, opening the door for the Reds’ talisman to make a sensational mid-season exit with the January transfer window due to open in just a few weeks. And whatever you think of Salah, and whether his anger is justified or not, his damning rant is the latest, and perhaps biggest, problem for Liverpool and Slott to deal with at a particularly punitive period.
However, while some have accused Salah of effectively besieging the slot after losing his place in the Dutch team, national team coach Hossam Hassan appears to have subtly supported Salah on social media.

In the aftermath of the Salah mixed zone earthquake, Hassan posted a photo of himself and the Egyptian attackers on Instagram with the caption: “Always a symbol of determination and strength.”
Unfortunately for Liverpool, Salah’s comments would appear to indicate that his relationship with Slott is not on the same level.
“I don’t know what to say (after Leeds fought back and secured a draw),” said Salah, who began his explosive rant in the mixed zone. “It was a bit funny and I couldn’t believe it. It’s a disappointing result for the team. We conceded a stupid goal. I was on the bench so I couldn’t help my teammates.”
“I couldn’t believe I was sitting on the bench for 90 minutes. It’s the third time this has happened. I think it’s the first time in my career. I’m very disappointed. I’ve done a lot for this club over the years, especially last season, and it feels like the club has thrown me under the bus.”
“That’s how I feel. Someone is trying to put all the blame on me. The club promised me a lot in the summer and now that I’m on the bench I can say they haven’t kept their promises.”
“I used to have a good relationship[with Slott]. Now we have nothing to do and I don’t know why. It seems[someone]doesn’t want me at the club. I called my dad and mom and told them to come to the Brighton game.”
“It doesn’t matter whether I play or not. I’m going to enjoy it. I’m just going to Anfield before the Africa Cup of Nations and saying goodbye to the fans because you never know what’s going to happen when you’re there.”
“To be fair to me, it’s unacceptable. If I were anywhere else, every club would protect their players. Now it’s ‘Throw Mo under the bus because there’s a problem within the team.’
“I don’t think it’s a problem. I don’t fight for a position every day just because I’ve earned it. I’m not bigger than the club, I’m not better than anything. But I earned it.”
Regarding Slott in particular, he said, “I have nothing to do with (Slot). We had a very good relationship. We don’t have anything to do with it now. No, no, my teammates, I don’t feel like I let them down. They know how much I love them. They know how much I support them, even before the game and after the game.”
