Manchester City favorite Yaya Toure has launched a new attack on Josep Guardiola, who coached the Ivorian’s iconic midfielder at both the Etihad and Barcelona.
Yaya Toure has reignited his bitter feud with Josep Guardiola, with Manchester City’s favorite player branding his former manager a “snake” in an explosive interview.
Toure, 42, has previously spoken openly about his fractious relationship with Guardiola, who coached him at both Barcelona and Manchester City. The midfielder left Camp Nou to join Premier League side City in 2010, but was reunited with Guardiola six years later when the Catalan took the top job at the Etihad.
Toure, who struggled for regular appearances in his final two years at City, continued to accuse Guardiola of having a “problem with Africans” after leaving the club, but he claimed he had been misquoted and later sent a letter of apology to the Manchester City manager.

However, Toure reopened old wounds by attacking Guardiola during an appearance on the ZACK YouTube channel.
“It doesn’t look like a human, it looks like a snake,” he said, talking about his experience playing under Guardiola in Spain. “Then the Barcelona coach called me and said, ‘You have to come back, it’s important.'” My wife says to me, “Are you going to listen to that nonsense?” He treated you like dirt and now he wants you to stay and are you going to stay? Let’s go to Manchester, brother. ”
“That guy didn’t play with me all year. And at the end of the year, I shined at the World Cup (2010) and he takes me to Barcelona. My wife used to talk about him: ‘Sheitan, he’s not a man, he’s evil.'” She sees him as a negative person. ”
Since joining Manchester City in 2016, Guardiola has won six Premier League titles and the Champions League. Toure played under him in their first two Premier League wins and moved in the summer of 2018.
Toure’s explosive comments came three-and-a-half years after Guardiola expressed a desire to end his long-running feud with Guardiola, who often chose to play Sergio Busquets before the midfielder at Barcelona.
In an interview with The Times in 2022, he said of Guardiola: “I would like to meet him. I would be happy. I need to talk to people who are passionate about football. I don’t have his phone number so I haven’t contacted him.”
