Crystal Palace 1-2 Manchester United: Premier League highlights as Mount and Zirkzee ensured victory

Video credit: TNT Sports

A jam-packed festive schedule kicks off in midweek as Ally McCoist and Darren Fletcher bring you their latest Premier League predictions.

Newcastle United will look to build on another tough battle against Tottenham Hotspur at St James’ Park in Tuesday’s high-profile clash, while Manchester City will aim to close their lead on Arsenal for at least 24 hours.

The Gunners then host Brentford on Wednesday, hoping to wipe out City’s invasion. Chelsea are also in action, heading to Elland Road for what promises to be a lively match against Leeds United.

And then there’s the rare treat of Thursday night’s game, when Manchester United, fresh off a come-from-behind victory over Crystal Palace, take on West Ham United.

In a close match in Game 13, Allie defeated Fletch 4-3, reducing the overall point difference to nine points. Can he close it again?

Selected matches:

newcastle v spurs

Fletch: “The two teams are inconsistent. Newcastle are better at home and Spurs are better away, so it’s hard to judge.

“But at the moment it feels like the rot is starting to set in at Tottenham, so I’m going to aim for Newcastle, who beat Everton and Man City.”

Prediction: Newcastle 3-1 Spurs

Alli: “I want Newcastle to continue their good form. They did a great job away to Everton at the weekend.

“But Tottenham? Dear me, what’s going on?! Fans and players, fans and manager are not getting along. They have to get back on track.

“But I don’t see that here. They haven’t had a good record at St James’s. In their last three league games there they have conceded 12 goals and scored two. I can only see more wins for Newcastle.”

Prediction: Newcastle 3-1 Tottenham

Leeds v Chelsea

Fletch: “Chelsea are in great form right now. If we can get 11 men on the pitch, we can win more games. It’s a big challenge. The discipline is not good, but the football is okay.”

“They will be without Moises Caicedo, but he will be too good for Leeds. I don’t think Leeds have enough good players to stay in the Premier League. They have a lot of players who are okay, but not good enough against good teams in the Premier League.”

Prediction: Leeds 0-1 Chelsea

Alli: “Leeds were much better against Manchester City, but I think Chelsea were also great against Arsenal at home. I can see Chelsea sneaking very close.”

Prediction: Leeds 1-2 Chelsea
