Arsenal remain top of the Premier League despite draw with Chelsea, with Gunners given message of encouragement for title ambitions
Former Chelsea star Frank Leboeuf has claimed the Blues are “not ready” to win the Premier League with a big boost from Arsenal. The Gunners are well placed to end their 20-year wait for the national title.
Sunday’s 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge left them five points behind leaders Manchester City. Chelsea and Aston Villa are just one point behind.
Despite the Blues’ position, Leboeuf insists Chelsea are not ready to become champions yet. “They (Arsenal) are still big favorites but they have to prove it. They lost four points against Sunderland and Chelsea, but
“Manchester City are back, Chelsea are still there and there’s a winter period that’s about to start so let’s see. That period is always important and missing the curve can put the final line in danger. But I think they should win the title.”
“Chelsea are becoming more mature but they’re not ready to win the title. And I don’t know about Man City because they can still be unstable. So I think Arsenal are still the favorites to win, but I like the fact that they can still race and I haven’t given up yet after that game.”

“It was 10-11, Arsenal got three points and should have been seven points ahead of the other teams, but it’s good for the Premier League.”
Leboeuf’s views are similar to those of Jamie Carragher. The Liverpool icon recently claimed that only they can stop Arsenal from winning the Premier League again.
“The only team that can stop Arsenal from winning the league is Arsenal. They are the best team. They are the best team. The only thing that can stop them is their own head, their own mentality. Maybe this crowd is nervous in March and April, if the league was still up at that point.”

“This would be it. If they don’t win, we’re all going to point at them and say, ‘You threw this away.’ I don’t think that’s ever happened before.”
“I always think there were teams in the Premier League that were slightly better than them, but that’s definitely not the case this season.”
Arsenal will be looking to extend their advantage even further next week. The Gunners welcome Brentford to the Emirates on Wednesday night ahead of their clash with Aston Villa at the weekend.
