Arsenal are looking to the future with a focus on their academy as part of their recruitment strategy. The north London club have successfully developed promising talent including Bukayo Saka, Miles Lewis-Skelly, Ethan Nwaneri and Max Dowman, all of whom have gone on to impress in the first team.

However, the Gunners are already preparing for the next generation, with the club’s hierarchy committed to building a sustainable future through the Hale End Academy. This includes scouting and signing young talent from around the world who can contribute to the club in the long term.

In line with this strategy, Arsenal acted quickly in the transfer market. According to ESPN, the club has agreed to sign highly-rated Ecuadorian twins Edwin and Holger Quintero from Independiente del Valle.

According to reports, both parties are in London this week to finalize the details of the agreement.

Still only 16 years old, the duo won’t officially join Arsenal until 2027, when they turn 18 and become eligible to transfer under current regulations. This is another example of the club’s commitment to identifying and securing the next generation of football talent, even if the results may not be immediate.

Arsenal are known to have invested heavily in South American talent over the years, and Gabriel Martinelli, signed for £6m from Brazilian club Ituano, is a successful example of this strategy.

The transfer fee for the Quintero twins has not yet been disclosed, but an announcement regarding their arrival from Independiente is expected to be made soon. The club also developed current gunner Piero Hincapie and was instrumental in Moises Caicedo’s path to the Premier League.

Arsenal’s recruitment team have been looking to secure such talent from an early stage and have already announced a preliminary agreement to sign Victor Ojanvuna. The Shamrock Rovers prodigy will join the Gunners in 2027, when he turns 18, after an impressive season in Ireland.

This comes at a time when opinions are divided over the performance of Arsenal’s academy. While the growth in talent in the first team is clear, the under-21 and under-18 teams had disappointing seasons.

There is a glimmer of hope that Arsenal are strengthening their standings to remain competitive by signing some of their most promising talent. Ultimately, success will be measured by how effectively the academy develops talent that either strengthens its senior ranks or generates funds for reinvestment.

This forms the basis of Arsenal’s sustainability plan under the KSE, with the summer’s huge transfer spending unlikely to be repeated unless player sales improve.
