Luke Littler has called on Manchester United to sign Bournemouth forward Antoine Semenyo and joked he had ‘done the job’ after the player followed him on social media.
Darts sensation Luke Littler has urged Manchester United to sign Bournemouth’s Antoine Semenyo. After the forward followed Nuke on social media, the teenage sensation joked that it was up to Old Trafford’s recruitment team to sign him.
The Nuke have asked United to trigger the 25-year-old’s release clause in January, believed to be around £65m. The proposal comes as coach Rouben Amorim faces a selection crisis, with Amad (Ivory Coast) and Brian Mbeumo (Cameroon) both preparing to link up with their countries for next month’s African Cup of Nations in Morocco.
Morocco’s Nousser Mazraoui will also be required to take part in the tournament, with clubs required to release players two weeks before the opening match. This means the trio could depart around the time of Wolves’ game at Molineux on December 8, but reports suggest the club are looking to postpone their departure.

Littler posted a series of stories on Instagram about the potential loss of Amado and Mbeumo. The 18-year-old shared a clip featuring footage of the United duo celebrating, with the caption: “AFCON woes solved?” before going into highlights of Semenyo’s attack.
The darts ace wrote: “Please activate the release clause (wink emoji) as we will miss Amado and Mbeumo significantly.”
He shared a screenshot of his notification on social media, showing Semenyo appearing to be following him. He captioned the post: “Step 1 (check the emoji) I’m done. Now it’s up to you Reds (wink and smile emoji).”
Rumors are swirling that Semenyo, who is also on the radar of Liverpool, is a potential transfer target for United. The Athletic reports that Bournemouth have “reluctantly accepted” that they may have to sell the 25-year-old in the upcoming January transfer window.
Semenyo, who signed with the Cherries until 2030 in the summer, reportedly has a £65m release clause in his contract, but there is a deadline for Bournemouth to secure a suitable replacement.
The January transfer window is just around the corner and Littler’s request comes amid concerns that Amorim’s squad will be without key players until mid-January.
As it stands, players called up for AFCON activities could miss games against Newcastle United (December 26) and Wolves (December 30), as well as the previous games against Bournemouth and Aston Villa on December 15 and 21.
Depending on how Ivory Coast and Cameroon progress, he could also miss games against Leeds, Burnley, the FA Cup third round and the Manchester derby against City on December 17th.
Amorim confirmed earlier this month that discussions would take place with the relevant football federations.
“We have rules about when players have to be released, but we are trying to keep them a little longer,” he said.
“It’s not just about us. We’ll see. We’ll try to arrange something with the federation.”
