Following Hull City’s dramatic 2-1 win over Stoke City, tensions boiled over as players from both teams clashed after the visitors celebrated. Joe Gerhart scored the decisive goal late on for the Tigers and the final whistle was blown with a spectacle of jubilation in front of the Stoke faithful and their opponents.

The situation quickly escalated as players from both teams faced off in front of an angry home crowd. According to the Stoke Sentinel, Mohamed Bellomi performed a celebratory dance in front of the home supporters after Hull’s last-gasp victory, sparking the fury of Ashley Phillips.

This caused a violent reaction and things quickly escalated as more Hull players rushed back towards the altercation, leading to referee Lee Doughty issuing a yellow card after the match.

A missile appeared to be hurled from the stands as emotions ran high at the end of a dramatic Championship promotion clash.

Gerhard’s dramatic victory moves Hull City into fifth place, just two points behind second-placed Stoke.

Stoke manager Mark Robins admitted the incident, which occurred after the final whistle, had annoyed him and deplored the whole incident.

“(The referee) said one of the players celebrated and incited the fans. Everyone shouldn’t get involved, but they shouldn’t get involved,” he said.

“When it settled down, one of their coaching teams, their management, went and said something and everything started again. Now both clubs are going to be fined, which is a headache for me.”

Hull’s manager, Sergei Yakilovich, remained silent about the incident, stating that he did not witness the large-scale brawl as he was in conversation with his opponent.

The chaotic scene at bet365 Stadium was nothing compared to what happened at the match in Bolivia earlier this week.

Chaos broke out after the Copa Bolivia quarter-final draw between Blooming and Real Oclo, resulting in 17 red cards.

A squad of 20 police officers had to intervene and use tear gas in a desperate attempt to quell the violence.
