Former United favorite Louis Saha believes manager Ruben Amorim’s decision to remove two unnecessary players from his squad in the summer was a good one, and says it has dampened the atmosphere in the dressing room.
Manchester United are better off without Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho. This is the view of former United star Luis Saha, who believes Ruben Amorim’s dressing room is less toxic now that Rashford and Sancho are gone.
Rashford has joined Barcelona on loan with the aim of making the move permanent next summer. Sancho is on loan at Aston Villa and will leave United on a free transfer at the end of the season.
Saha said: “The team is much more harmonious than before. This is the best move we could have made. Even if one player is not in form, we will manage.”
“You can take them out of the side and the rest of the team can take care of them. But when you have three or four players who are really talented but aren’t in the race, it takes the level of the team down.
“I think it’s very important to act boldly in a situation like that because it’s really difficult for a manager to turn that situation around.

“So Amorim sacked them and replaced them with (Benjamin) Sesco, (Brian) Mbeumo and (Mateus) Cunha. And now United are playing at a higher level than before.”
“Those three guys work hard, they’re willing to defend, and they don’t think they’re bigger than the team. A negative attitude puts the team in big trouble.”
“I think that was United’s main goal in the transfer market. Players who were thinking about themselves more than the team needed to go,” the former France international added in an interview on Pandit Arena.
“The team is more balanced now. We need at least three-quarters of the team to be dedicated, willing to sacrifice and talented people.”
“We can afford to have some talented players who don’t always have that attitude, but it has to be a minority. When I was there, we had Gary and Phil Neville, John O’Shea, Wes Brown. They made life easier for us.”
