Arsenal’s nemesis Harry Kane has warned the Gunners he is ready for a rematch after Bayern Munich’s defeat in north London. The German giants suffered a 3-1 defeat in the Champions League on Wednesday night as Arsenal made a statement against their European rivals.

Julian Timber gave the hosts the lead, but Lennart Karl equalized. However, Arsenal could not be denied as goals from Noni Madueke and Leandro Trossard ensured victory for Mikel Arteta’s side.

And the Gunners also managed to stop former Tottenham forward Kane from scoring again. But despite the draw, the England captain is keen to reunite with Arsenal later in the tournament.

Following Wednesday’s results, Kane said: “It was a tough game, just as we expected. It was a good battle in the first half where we were almost evenly matched.

“In the second half, we didn’t quite have the same energy or intensity and lost too many duels. This is our first loss of the season. We don’t want to panic too much about it. But we’ll definitely learn about it.”

“They won the first and second balls. Set pieces, we knew they were going to be dangerous. I’m sure we’ll see them (Arsenal) again at the end of the Champions League.”

“They defended almost man-to-man all over the pitch. Like I said, I don’t think it’s time to panic. We played away to Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal. We won most of the games.”

Kane intends to be reunited with the Gunners once the final begins, and Bayern manager Vincent Kompany feels the same way. He said: “Losing is part of football.

“In fact, it felt like we were getting better and better in the first half. We didn’t start badly, but Arsenal’s set-pieces were very dangerous and that changed the game.”

Bayern manager Vincent Kompany also wants to create further rifts with the Gunners.

The Belgian added: “I hope we will meet again someday, but then we will see what the next step is. The Champions League is not decided now.”

“But I have to be honest that Arsenal were better today. We need to sort that out from Saturday. I felt like the players were already hungry for another game.”

Arsenal currently lead both the Champions League and Premier League with 14 wins from 17 games in all competitions. The Gunners travel to Chelsea this weekend to take on their closest rivals in the hunt for the domestic title, but their next European opponents are Belgian side Club Brugge.
