FPL managers will be working hard on the fitness of many of their players ahead of GW13. Gameweek begins on Saturday, with the transfer deadline passing at 1:30 p.m.

Manchester City will be the first of the Big Six to play this weekend, with Josep Guardiola’s side hosting Leeds at 3pm on Saturday. Newcastle and Tottenham are also scheduled to play on the same day, while Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal will play on Sunday. Express Sport also brings you the latest FPL injury news.

Antoine Semenyo

Antoine Semenyo aggravated an ankle injury during an international match with Ghana and missed the last game, which was a draw between Bournemouth and West Ham.

And ahead of the match against the Hammers, Cherries manager Andoni Iraola explained: “Antoine is different. Justin (Kluivert) and Ben (Ganon Doak) have had muscular injuries, but in Antoine’s case what happened when he was there (away against Ghana) is nothing new. He was already dealing with an ankle injury.” Iraola is likely to provide further updates ahead of Bournemouth’s trip to Sunderland.

Matheus Cunha

Matheus Cunha was injured in training and missed Manchester United’s defeat to Everton on Monday night.

And Red Devils manager Ruben Amorim admitted earlier in the week that he did not know how long it would take to recover from the issue.

“It was tough in training,” Amorim said. “We don’t know how long he’s going to be out. I don’t think it’s serious, but we can’t put our players at risk.”

Cole Palmer

Cole Palmer has endured an injury-plagued season and hasn’t played since September. The England international has been suffering from a groin injury and his return was delayed after breaking his toe when he smashed it into his door last week.

However, the Guardian reports that the attacker has been training with the Blues’ squad this week and Chelsea expect him to be declared fit for Arsenal’s visit.

Victor Gokeres

Victor Gokeres has not played since he was sent off during Arsenal’s win over Burnley before the November international break.

The Swedish striker was not in the Gunners’ squad for Wednesday night’s Champions League game against Bayern Munich, but manager Mikel Arteta insisted his return is “very close”.

And speaking at the same time about Gokeres and the injured Kai Havertz, Arteta added: “They’re both really good players. So we’ll probably re-examine them again over the next few days to see how everything is and if we can push them for the weekend and the next game.”

Gabriel

Arsenal will likely be without Gabriel for the third consecutive game after the talented defender was sent off in Brazil’s recent friendly against Senegal.

Gabriel is suffering from an adductor injury and recent reports suggest he could be out until the new year. Meanwhile, Arteta revealed the centre-back will be out for “a few weeks” ahead of last weekend’s North London derby.
