Idrissa Gueye sent off for slapping Toffees teammate Michael Keane in the face as Everton beat Man United with 10 men
Everton playmaker Jack Grealish playfully slapped team-mate Michael Keane around the face after a stunning win against Manchester United. It was Keane’s second slap in the face of the night after teammate Idrissa Gay was shown a red card for hitting an England player in a bizarre incident in the first half.
The two sides engaged in a heated Premier League clash at Old Trafford and had to be separated by Jordan Pickford after just 13 minutes of play. Gueye was visibly irritated after Keane was furious at the poor play that led to United’s attack.
But with the ball out, the Everton duo fired a horn inside their own 18-yard box, and the Senegal international appeared to slap Keane in the face.

Despite being down to 10 men, Everton grabbed all three points thanks to Keenan Dewsbury-Hall’s superb goal just before the half-hour mark.
David Moyes’ side had to dig deep and goalkeeper Pickford needed to make a number of big saves for his team to grab all three points.
Everton became the first team in Premier League history to win at Old Trafford with just 10 men, as their fans remained at the ground to cheer long after the final whistle.
The Toffees players were delighted with the result, celebrating in front of the away Everton faithful.
It was during this celebration that Grealish playfully slapped Keane around the face, giving the Toffees defender a funny look after securing all three points.
After the final whistle, Moyes revealed that Gayet had apologized to his team-mates in the dressing room.
Everton’s Sky Sports manager said: “I don’t think anyone in the stadium would have been surprised if nothing had happened. I think the referee had a little more time to think about it.”
“The rules of the game said that if you slap your own player, you could get into trouble. But there’s another side to this as well. Players like to fight each other if someone doesn’t do the right thing.”
“If you want to get results with that toughness and resilience, you want somebody to act on that. It’s unfortunate that he got sent off.”
“But I’m angry with my teammates because we were all football players. He apologized for the sending off, praised the players, thanked them and apologized for what happened.”
