Cristiano Ronaldo has gifted the family of Liverpool star Diogo Jota with a commemorative watch to commemorate Portugal’s Nations League win. The legendary winger gave each of his international team-mates a personalized watch, including one with Jota’s name and number on it for his family.
Portugal came from behind to win twice against Spain in the Nations League final, with Jota coming on from the bench. Goals from Nuno Mendes and Ronaldo led to a penalty shootout, with Portugal winning by converting all five penalties. The watch was commissioned by Ronaldo from his friend Jacob Arabo and was delivered in time for Ronaldo’s first World Cup qualifying match against Armenia.
This generous stance was revealed by Portuguese media outlet SIC. The exact price of these personalized watches has not yet been revealed, but it is estimated that they are worth hundreds of thousands of euros.

They described the watch as being “as extraordinary as the champion himself.”
Ronaldo faced criticism for not attending Jota’s funeral after the Liverpool star’s younger brother tragically died in a car accident. However, several of Portugal’s star players attended the ceremony, including Ruben Neves and Bruno Fernandes.
In a recent interview with Piers Morgan, Ronaldo explained his absence.
“There are two things. People criticize me a lot,” he said. “I don’t care about that. If your conscience is good and free, you don’t have to worry about what people say.
“But the one thing I won’t do? Since my father died, I’ve never been to a cemetery again. You know me, and you know my reputation. Everywhere I go, it’s a circus.
“I don’t go out because if I do, the attention will be on me. I don’t want that kind of attention.
“I don’t like doing interviews at sensitive times, talking about him, talking about football. This shows how life is a circus. Sometimes.”
“I’m not part of it. If you want to be part of this world, good luck, but I’ll be part of the other side. People can keep criticizing. I was happy with my decision.”
