Eberechi Eze scored a stunning hat-trick for the Gunners as Tottenham suffered a heartbreaking defeat against arch-rivals Arsenal in the north London derby on Sunday afternoon.
Tottenham goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario has apologized to supporters. It’s the same criticism he also made of his team-mates after Sunday’s disastrous 4-1 loss to rivals Arsenal.
The Gunners extended their lead at the top of the Premier League to six points with a comprehensive victory at the Emirates Stadium. Ebere Eze completed his hat-trick after Leandro Trossard put the hosts ahead, but Richarlison’s stunning second-half strike was just a consolation.
Meanwhile, coach Thomas Frank’s side are in ninth place after playing 12 games. So far this season, they have 5 wins, 3 draws, and 4 losses.

Speaking to Sky Sports Full Time, Vicario immediately apologized to the fans and admitted his team had not played at all despite it being one of the biggest games on the calendar. “It was a very bad night for us,” the goalie said.
“First of all, we have to apologize to the people who support us every day. They expected us to fight, but today we didn’t. At this level of football, that’s non-negotiable.
“It’s a tough night. It’s a very bad loss. But we have to stick together. We have a big night on Wednesday, but we need to stick together. We didn’t do what we usually do tonight.”
“Emotions are running high, but we need to remain calm, apologize to those who support us, and travel today. I think we waited too long to get into the game.”
“We were too passive. The game plan we had was different. Today we didn’t fight.
“First of all I have to apologize for this. But we have a big night on Wednesday and we have to come together and move forward.”
Spurs return to action in the middle of this week ahead of a tricky Champions League tie away to last season’s winners Paris Saint-Germain. They then have to prepare for next weekend’s Premier League game against Fulham.
Meanwhile, Arsenal also face a difficult test in Europe against German side Bayern Munich on Wednesday night. This will be followed by an away London derby against Chelsea in the Premier League.
