Arsenal are currently in the best position to end their long wait for the Premier League title following the demolition of Tottenham, but there could still be some twists and turns ahead of the busy Christmas period
Arsenal are running as the favorites to win the Premier League this season. The Gunners extended their lead at the top of the table to six points after defeating north London rivals Tottenham Hotspur at the Emirates Stadium.
Ebelesi Eze’s hat-trick was joined by a goal from Leandro Trossard in an unforgettable afternoon for Mikel Arteta’s side. It was a productive weekend for Chelsea, who comfortably defeated newly promoted Burnley to secure second place in the table.
And while the two London rivals achieved impressive wins, the same could not be said for Manchester City, who faced a bit of an obstacle at the weekend. Josep Guardiola’s side lost 2-1 to Newcastle at St James’ Park.
They remain in third place but are seven points off the pace. But it’s still early days, and there are sure to be more twists and turns in the future.
Here’s how each of the Premier League’s top three teams will fare in the coming weeks.
