Nottingham Forest suffered their sixth Premier League defeat of the season in just 12 games, pushing Liverpool into further crisis. The international break did little for the struggling Reds, who lost 3-0 in a disastrous title defense for the second year in a row. Apart from the defeat to Manchester United, the Reds have enjoyed a good run at Anfield this season, but the comforts of home haven’t helped them here.

Instead, Arne Slott’s side suffered their sixth loss in their last seven league games thanks to goals from Murillo, Nicolo Savona and Morgan Gibbs-White. This result means they sit in the bottom half of the table, have a negative goal difference and have to worry about finishing fourth rather than first. Express Sport rates and predicts Liverpool players…

Liverpool player rating vs Nottingham Forest

Alison – 6

He returned to the team for the first time since September, but his first two goals were ineffective. He made a great save, but was outsmarted by his defense and ended the game.

Dominik Szoboszlai – 5

Although he has been deployed at right-back, his most memorable moment was when he moved to the center, where he belongs. Liverpool lose a lot when he’s not in midfield. He linked up well with Salah in attack, but there were times when his decision-making was questionable.

Ibrahima Konate – 3

Mistakes continued in the first half, and fortunately Igor Jesus’ goal was canceled out, causing controversy. He committed a foul on the same player before being hooked before the time mark. This season, he’s far below his level.

Virgil van Dijk – 5

He failed to command Liverpool’s backline, conceded set-pieces and was unable to block Gibbs-White’s shot in the closing stages as Forest poured salt into the wound.

Milos Kerkes – 5

It might have been better if he had returned to the starting lineup and had a shot at 0-0. There are still question marks defensively, but other performances have actually improved.

Ryan Gravenbirch – 5

He is responsible for conceding the corner kick that Forest scored. He lost the battle in midfield and was then moved to center back. The season started well, but things haven’t been up to his standards for a while now. I made a reservation.

Curtis Jones – 5

Although he completed almost every pass and ran a lot off the ball, he still couldn’t give Liverpool the midfield control they needed. It would have been 6/10, but he got worse as the game went on.

Alexis Mac Allister – 5

He blocked the goal line and forced a good save from Mats Sells with his header. Although they played hard off the ball, they were easily defeated on the way to the second goal.

Mohamed Salah – 7

Salah is much more similar. He was much more involved than in recent games and always tried to force problems on Liverpool. Despite creating some promising chances, he couldn’t do it all with one shot. I dragged it to 1 shot width. I needed more help.

Alexander Isaac – 3

Virtually anonymous. He had just 11 touches in the first half and only three touches in the second half. His only shot was a perfect slice of the volley that went wide.

Kodi Gakpo – 5

He was one of the few players who could have made something happen in the first half, but in the end he couldn’t do it. The cross to Savona for the second goal was too late.

substitute

Hugo Ekitike (Konate 55) – 5

It didn’t have much of an impact.

Andy Robertson (Kerkes 68) – 5

He blocked a shot by Omari Hutchinson that could have led to the fourth goal.

Federico Chiesa (Isaac 68) – 5

The shot went over the crossbar, but Murillo blocked it and the goal was disallowed. Reserved for dissent.

Rio Ngmoja (Jones 78) – N/A

I’m late in introducing this, but it’s still very raw.
