Manchester United forward Joshua Zirkzee has struggled for minutes under Ruben Amorim this season and could leave in January, leaving his World Cup hopes alive.
Roma have made their first move towards signing Manchester United loser Joshua Zirkzee. The Italian giants have approached United and Zirksee’s agent about a January loan move.
Roma face significant competition in the race for the Dutch striker, with Everton, West Ham, PSV Eindhoven and Juventus also interested. But Roma believe the 24-year-old, who made his name at Bologna, is open to a return to Italy.
They are also prepared to offer him a loan move with an option to make the move permanent, depending on his availability and whether he will play in European football next season.
Zirkzee has had a cold spell at Old Trafford this season and is yet to start a Premier League game.

There may be a chance if Benjamin Sesco is absent, but although his injury is not thought to be serious, United manager Ruben Amorim is reluctant to allow the player to be released if he is unavailable.
Zirksee is concerned about whether he will get enough game time and game time to ensure he is in contention for a spot in the Netherlands World Cup squad. He has won six caps but currently faces being left out of the Dutch squad due to his situation at Manchester United.
Everton and West Ham are both looking to improve their forward options and could be open to a move in January. But Zirksee may prefer Italy, where he has guaranteed game time and a better chance of qualifying for next year’s World Cup.
Everton are also closely linked with Ivan Toney, who could move in January from his time in Saudi Arabia.
PSV are also interested in a loan move in January and are considering a firm offer, while Juventus are also interested in signing Zirksee if United approve the loan move.
