Manchester United wrote to the Premier League after being dissatisfied with the December fixture list, and the Premier League responded by giving the Red Devils a more fan-friendly schedule.
The Premier League has announced the latest changes to the fixture schedule. This is welcome news for Manchester United fans. After announcing the December schedule, the league was inundated with complaints from United supporters attending games.
Between now and Christmas, coach Ruben Amorim’s side will not play a single Saturday game. Only two of the next eight games will be played over the weekend, and both will be away.
By the time the Manchester derby rolls around, United fans will be glad it happened at the weekend, but it will have been almost three months since they last played a Saturday game at Old Trafford. United CEO Omar Berrada met with Premier League boss Richard Masters to explain the club’s concerns, and league officials appear to have taken note.
The derby is one of 19 games rescheduled for the period from mid-January to early February. United will be looking for revenge on their 3-0 victory over City in a come-from-behind game on Saturday, January 17th at 12:30pm.
Matches in the 12:30pm slot on Saturdays are usually shown live on TNT Sports, but the derby will be broadcast on Sky Sports. TNT will instead broadcast Arsenal’s away trip to Nottingham Forest from 5:30pm on the same day.

Further action is scheduled on Sunday 25th January with two 2pm kick-offs, Brentford v Forest and Newcastle v Villa. United’s trip to Arsenal will also be broadcast on Sky from 4.30pm, while Everton’s home game against Leeds will also be broadcast from 8pm on Monday 26 January.
