Liverpool manager Arn Slott has confirmed that Florian Wirtz and Conor Bradley will both miss Saturday’s Premier League game against Nottingham Forest. However, Alisson Becker is available again and should start. The Brazilian shot-stopper has been sidelined since picking up a hamstring problem in the Reds’ 1-0 win over Galatasaray on September 30, missing a total of eight games.
But he is now ready to face Forest. Slott gave an update on his team’s fitness ahead of the game, revealing: “Alison trained last week and this week so hopefully he’ll be able to play today, but we’ve got some issues after the international break. Conor Bradley won’t be able to play, Florian Wertz won’t be able to play either. That’s far from ideal.”
Bradley’s setback leaves the slot without a natural right-back option, with the Liverpool manager expecting both the Northern Ireland international and currently sidelined Jeremy Frimpong to be sidelined for at least three weeks.
Slott revealed the details of the injury, explaining: “Both are muscle issues. I don’t think Conor will be available for the next 22 days of games. Unless a miracle happens, it’s probably over. Florian probably won’t last that long.”
“Jeremy is also out for an extended period of time and is unlikely to return for the next few weeks.” Dominik Szoboszlai represents a potential solution at right-back in the absence of Bradley and Frimpong, while Joe Gomez offers another alternative.
Slott acknowledged that players may need to be placed in unfamiliar roles. “Dominik plays very well in every position,” he said. “Joe Gomez has played 90 minutes twice in 2025, so playing seven times in 22 days might be a risk if you want to keep him playing longer.
“He missed yesterday’s training, but we expect him to train today. Maybe one or two players will have to play in positions they don’t normally play.”
