Manager Gordon Strachan is adamant there is no way Andre Onana will return to Manchester United after failing in Cameroon and impressing on loan with Trabzonspor in Turkey.
Gordon Strachan believes Andre Onana has made his final appearance for Manchester United.
Onana joined Trabzonspor on loan in September after falling through the ranks at Old Trafford. The Cameroon international made just one appearance for United before leaving. United manager Ruben Amorim currently sees Sanne Lamence as his long-term No. 1 goalkeeper. And Strachan, a former United favorite, believes there is no way back to Onana even if his loan deal ends.
“I think Andre Onana has played his last game for Manchester United,” Strachan told Esports News.
“At United you have to be present in goal. Whether it’s physically, with your attitude or with your personality, you have to be present. I don’t think he had that when he was playing for the club.”

“The big problem for me is that I don’t know if Onana really wanted to be at Old Trafford. He looked like he wanted to be somewhere else and that might be what he needs to start enjoying football again.”
“I never thought he enjoyed his football at United. I would be shocked if I saw him play for the club again. I think his United career is over in that respect.”
Meanwhile, Strachan admits he is still not satisfied with United’s decision to sign Benjamin Sesco from RB Leipzig for £73m. Sesco has only scored twice in 12 games this season, and Strachan added: “Benjamin Sesco has looked tentative, to say the least.
“He is still a young player, but we don’t know about him at the moment. We have to give more time to the young players, but so far since he came in we haven’t seen anything promising.
“The other attacking players, Brian Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha, have looked a lot better, especially Mbeumo. He’s already made the difference a few times for United and he has integrity for his game, which I like a lot.”
“He has really developed in the last few games against Liverpool, Brighton and Spurs. He could be very important for United this season.”
“On the other hand, Sesco needs to show more glimpses and moments, like Cunha and Mbeumo. It’s still early days, but he needs to have more of an impact on the game.”
