After months of negotiations with Arsenal, Bukayo Saka is ready to sign a new contract that will lock him in for the foreseeable future, where he will become one of the top earners.
Arsenal are closing in on a new four-and-a-half year deal with Bukayo Saka, with the England winger contracted until 2030 after months of negotiations.
As Mirror Football reported in September, the Gunners were always confident of retaining the homegrown talent who would be their top earner at the Emirates. Arsenal have steadily improved under Mikel Arteta and Saka is essential to their success and the club needs to continue to grow.
His contract runs until 2030, with Arsenal and Saka set to discuss his next move again in just over two years. As a player enters the final 12 months of his contract, more options emerge and the balance of power shifts from the club to the player, so clubs often begin contract negotiations at that time.
Saka has never expressed a desire to leave the Emirates, but this is largely due to the club’s continued improvement and ability to challenge for major honours. The England star has been involved in a number of title competitions and appeared in the Champions League semi-finals for the first time last season.
He has now made it clear that he wants to win major titles and honours, and believes Arsenal can do it.

It is understood that Arsenal want a new deal to be signed before the end of the year as they want to resolve the issue and retain the player, who has been at the club since he was seven years old.
Negotiations with Saka are progressing following recent news that William Saliba has committed to the club long-term. The centre-half signed a contract worth around £250,000-a-week amid interest from Real Madrid, but the club have since stepped up efforts to terminate Saka’s contract.
Despite only being 24, Saka is approaching 300 appearances for the Gunners, scoring 76 goals in that time. He has been named Arsenal’s Player of the Year twice and England’s Player of the Year twice. In 2023, he was named PFA Young Player of the Year.
Saka spoke about his ambitions earlier this year, making it clear he wanted to win a silver medal with his boyhood club. “I want to win and I want to win with this badge on. That’s obvious. The fans know how much I love them. You saw when I came out on Tuesday, they continue to love me.”
“So it’s a good relationship. I’m really happy to be listened to and I’m focused on winning. I don’t think anyone is really in a hurry. I have two years left on my contract so I’m pretty relaxed. Everyone knows what I think and I’ve told you guys too, so I don’t think there’s really much else going on.”
But things may look very different in two years. But if Saka continues on his current trajectory, his stock will be higher than anyone in world football at the age of 26.
Arsenal are a growing club and I feel they are on the verge of a big win. Now they need to prove it as a club. That said, even for a star like Saka, there will be no shortage of offers if he is interested in wondering if the grass may be greener elsewhere.
