Chelsea may have discovered another gem in the transfer market. Because one of their future players has been compared to none other than Cristiano Ronaldo. The West Londoners were one of the Premier League’s busiest clubs in the summer, but one of their signings has gone under the radar. After the window closed, they agreed a deal to sign teenage forward Dastan Satpayev ahead of the 2026/27 season.
Currently playing for Kazakhstan champions Kairat Almaty, Satpayev is already a key figure for both club and country. At the end of last season, he scored the decisive goal in Kairat’s match against Astana, winning their fifth domestic title. This was his 14th goal in a very impressive club season, which also included seven assists.
This young man has also shown remarkable success at the international level. At the weekend, he scored his first goal for Kazakhstan in a hard-fought draw with Belgium.
Afterwards, teammate Ashat Tajbergen gave high praise: “Dastan is very calm and a top-level professional. I haven’t seen a professional like him since Cristiano Ronaldo.”
Satpayev is not initially expected to break into Chelsea’s first team, but if he can approach Ronaldo’s level he could be a big player for the Blues.
His heroics at the end of last season led Kairat president Kairat Borambaev to heap praise on him, hailing him as the best player in the league.
“Dastan is the best player this season,” he declared in an interview with Vesti. “He has shown exceptional performances for his age, which has not only caught the attention of us but also our opponents in the Champions League.
“He is a bright star player for Kazakhstan and we expect him to continue to develop. He will play for Kairat next season but will not be able to leave for England until he is 18. He will be with us from June to August[next year].”
Satpayev is considered a once-in-a-generation talent in his home country and is expected to have a bright future in the gaming world. However, he will likely be loaned out to hone his skills before being introduced to Chelsea’s first team.
The reigning Club World Cup champions already boast an embarrassing amount of wealth in attacking positions and will have even more quality at their disposal next season.
Kendry Paes is set to integrate with the Blues in the 2026/27 season, while Emmanuel Emega has signed a pre-contractual agreement to join Chelsea from sister club Strasbourg.
Sporting CP winger Giovanny Quenda is also set to join Stamford Bridge next summer for a fee in the region of £40 million.
