Sir David Beckham celebrated his knighthood with a party for 30 family and friends at a Cotswolds pub on Friday night.

The former England captain was knighted by Charles III that week for his services to sport and charity. After the ceremony at Windsor Castle, Beckham was spotted leaving Gordon Ramsay’s Michelin-starred Chelsea restaurant.

He was accompanied by his wife Victoria Beckham, three of his four children Romeo, Cruise and Harper, and several close friends.

However, it appears the festivities continued into the weekend. According to The Sun, the 50-year-old has booked The Bull in Charlbury for Friday night’s celebrations.

The gathering reportedly began in a private safari tent at the back of the facility and then moved indoors. At the celebration, Beckham’s son, Cruise, an up-and-coming musician, performed an original song written especially for his father’s knighthood.

The entire pub then played classics from artists such as Oasis and the Rolling Stones, and a chorus of “We love you Sir David Beckham” broke out.

In the evening, a feast of barbecued oysters and lamb with roasted potatoes was presented, along with bottles of wine, beer and cocktails. According to reports, the celebrations lasted until just before midnight, when Beckham returned home.

Among the guests reported to be in attendance were director Guy Ritchie, Beckham’s former Manchester United teammate Gary Neville, and his sons Romeo and Cruise.

Following the knighthood ceremony, the former winger shared a heartfelt message on social media.

“Words cannot even describe how special a day it is for me, a boy born in East London, to be knighted by His Majesty the King today,” he wrote.

“I am truly humbled and extremely grateful for this honour. I am lucky to represent our country and have always done so with pride…I love the British Royal Family and what it means to people not just in the UK but around the world.”

“I never thought something like this would happen to me…I have played for all the clubs I have played for, from Ridgway Rovers to Manchester United, Preston North End, Real Madrid, Los Angeles Galaxy, AC Milan, Paris Saint-Germain and of course England. All my clubs, great managers, team-mates and loyal fans have helped me get to where I am today…I’m very grateful to them all…Playing for my country will always be the proudest moment of my career…Representing England and captaining my country has been my life.” A 7 year old’s dream.

“Football has given me everything and also allowed me to travel from an early age. Travel has opened my eyes to the issues facing children around the world. They taught me how important it is to support children, develop their potential, and inspire the next generation. I am also proud to work with the military, who sacrifice so much for us all.

“All I’ve ever wanted to do is make my family proud. My parents and grandparents who have always been there for me and taught me the right values of hard work and respect. My beautiful wife who has been by my side for 28 years, who has been my biggest supporter and pushed me through hard times…I wouldn’t be able to live the life I have today without her.”

“To my beautiful children, of whom I am so proud. I know this is a proud and emotional day for them too. They are the greatest joy of our lives and my inspiration every day. I love you all so much.

“Finally, to mom, dad, Victoria, and my kids, can you believe this…I love you all so much and thank you.”
