The Metropolitan Police has launched an investigation after Spurs’ Destiny Udogie was allegedly threatened with a gun by a football agent in London on September 6th.
Tottenham have released a statement confirming that the Premier League footballer who was allegedly threatened with a gun by a football agent was Destiny Oudogie. The Metropolitan Police Department began an investigation, and the investigator in question was arrested immediately after the incident.
Spurs defender Udogi was targeted in London on the night of September 6th. Police were called to the scene at 11:14 p.m. after receiving a report that a man had been threatened with a gun.
Another man was also allegedly threatened by the same person during the incident. No injuries were reported in either incident.
The agent was arrested two days later on charges of possession of a firearm with intent, extortion and driving without a license. Tottenham have now confirmed that Udogi, 22, was the man at the center of what sources described as horrifying.
A club spokesperson said: “We have provided support to Destiny and her family since the incident and will continue to do so. As this is a legal matter we are unable to comment further.”

Udogi is an Italy international and joined Spurs in August 2022. Tottenham have agreed to pay Serie A side Udinese a £15m down payment and performance-related fees for his services.
The left-back has made 75 appearances since signing for Tottenham. Udogi started Tuesday’s Champions League match against Danish giants Copenhagen at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
He played until the 73rd minute and was replaced by manager Thomas Frank. Despite being down to 10 men in the second half, Spurs won 4-0 thanks to goals from Brennan Johnson, Wilson Odbert, Micky van de Ven and Joao Parinha.
The next match is at home to Manchester United on Saturday, kick-off at 12:30pm. It remains to be seen whether Udogi will start, but Jed Spence was substituted for the final stages of the game against Copenhagen.
Udogi was part of Tottenham’s side that won the Europa League in May. A 17-year run ended without a trophy for the North Londoners.
In addition to starring for Tottenham, Udogi has won 12 caps at international level. Born in Italy, Udogie is of Nigerian descent.
