Wales manager Craig Bellamy has categorically ruled out ruling himself out of the race for the vacant managerial job at Celtic. Despite being considered the front-runner for the role at Parkhead, Bellamy is fully committed to his duties with the Wales national team.
Addressing the speculation, he said: “I understand the connection. I played there too. But for me, I love what I’m doing now. I’m completely focused on what’s to come.”
“That’s all I’m focused on. It’s a cliché, but I couldn’t ask for anything else. It’s not on my radar, and it never will be on my radar.”
The announcement comes shortly after Welsh Football Association chief executive Noel Mooney issued a stern warning to the Scottish champions. He reminded that Bellamy is under contract until 2028 and is only thinking about qualifying for the upcoming World Cup.
“He’s only been on a four-year contract for a little over a year, and we’re completely focused on getting to next year’s World Cup,” Mooney said.
