Manchester United are said to be linked with a move for Sweden’s hottest young prospect, with a £2.6m move proposed.
Manchester United are not currently considering signing young AIK Football striker Kevin Filling. Despite reports that United are in talks to sign Filling from AIK for a fee of around £2.6 million, those claims are beside the point.
Due to Brexit regulations, United’s academy is primarily focused on recruiting within the UK. Contrary to some reports, 16-year-old Filling should not have been able to join United in January.
Premier League and EFL clubs are prohibited from signing players from overseas until they reach the age of 18, and all transfers from European countries require work permits, which are allocated on a points system. It is not uncommon for United’s name to be mentioned in transfer rumors, a tactic used by agents to gain influence.

Filling has made 10 appearances for AIK’s first team this season. The promising youngster has scored three goals in all competitions and is considered a future star in Sweden.
United continued to be active in the European market at every opportunity and quickly secured the signing of Enzo Cana-Biik on a free transfer from Le Havre.
Kanabiik turned 18 in January and was in the final year of his contract. United completed the deal in July and immediately loaned the young forward to Ineos-owned FC Lausanne Sport.
United have increased their presence in markets outside Europe since Ineos invested in the club.
Sekou Kone will join from Mali in 2024, Diego Leon arrived from Paraguay in the summer and United recently agreed in principle to sign Colombian youngster Cristian Orozco.
