Bruno Fernandes was one of the Manchester United players to wish Marcus Rashford a happy birthday. The forward celebrated his 28th birthday on Halloween, just two days before Barcelona’s game against Elche and the day before United’s trip to Nottingham Forest. Current and former colleagues celebrated the occasion on social media.
Fernandez was the first to share the message by posting a selfie of the two of them on his Instagram Story. He tagged Rashford in the upload and wrote: “Happy birthday Broski. Enjoy the day you deserve.” Rashford re-shared it on his Story, replying: “I love you brother.”
Barcelona teammate Rooney Bulge also contributed in a story, tagging Rashford with the caption: “Happy birthday my brother.”
Former United academy graduate and close friend Roshaun Williams shared a throwback photo of the team from his youth and wrote: “Happy birthday to my right hand.”
Rashford then uploaded a photo of himself standing in front of a table with cakes and balloons. If you look closely, you can see that the cake features the back of Barcelona’s home kit, displaying team number 14.
David de Gea became one of the first former colleagues to reply, sending a red heart emoji along with a party face emoji. Harry Maguire quickly added his own comment: “Happy birthday, mate.”
Former United Academy player DJ Buffonzi also wrote: “More lives, more blessings.” Another former academy graduate, Devonte Redmond, wrote, “Happy birthday to you for showing us that nothing is impossible! Keep trying.”
Rashford also received warm wishes from Coleen Rooney, who said: “Happy birthday. I hope you have the best time celebrating xx.”
His younger brother, Dwayne Maynard, agreed: “My mom is done with Sunday’s game. It would be great to get a win and a goal.”
Long-time friend and former United player Jesse Lingard also paid tribute, writing: “Happy birthday brother.”
Former Aston Villa colleagues Ian Maassen and Leon Bailey followed suit.
Maasen wrote, “Happy birthday, brother,” while Bailey added, “More life and blessings.”
