Rhodri Giggs is set to remarry 14 years after his brother and Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs admitted to having an affair with his ex-wife.
Rhodri Giggs is set to remarry 14 years after his brother’s disastrous affair with his ex-wife. The 49-year-old has been dating Victoria Phillips for over a year and popped the big question earlier this month.
He and his new girlfriend announced their engagement via Instagram earlier this week, with Victoria posting a photo of her sparkling ring while writing: “October 18, 2025.” Rodri quipped: “I couldn’t have said yes more. Thank you everyone. I agree she’s very lucky.”
The couple received a slew of loving messages following the announcement, including one from Coronation Street star Andy Whyment who said: “Congratulations to you both.”
This isn’t the first time Rodri’s love life has been in the news. In 2011, it was revealed that her brother Ryan Giggs had been having an affair with his then-wife Natasha. The affair, which dates back to 2003, caused a huge rift in the Giggs family and ultimately led to Rhodri and Natasha’s divorce.

The affair also took place behind the back of Ryan’s then-wife Stacey, who filed for divorce in 2017. Despite the infidelity, Rodri has since continued to make amends with his brother, even admitting that he profited from it.
According to GB News, Rodri responded to a social media user about the incident earlier this year, writing: “Over 14 years ago I had two kids with someone else and made a lot of money out of it.”
He added: “I’m done with it. That was 14 years ago and I made about £1 million doing it. There’s no way I’m going to ride the X and expect a few pieces of debris to fly around. It’s all part of the fun.”
Rodri, who currently runs a podcast and works in recruitment, shot to fame in 2011 when the incident came to light. Mr Gig’s younger brother also enjoyed a career in the lower leagues, representing teams such as Salford and FC United, before turning to coaching and eventually quitting football.
News of Rodri’s engagement comes after Giggs’ younger brother slammed the Premier League’s decision last month not to include him on the shortlist of Hall of Fame candidates. “Home to great players, two more players will be voted into the Premier League Hall of Fame in 2025,” the Premier League wrote on social media.
And upon seeing Ryan’s name missing from the list, Rodri hit back by summarizing Giggs’ heroics at Manchester United, writing: “13 Premier League medals, countless goals and a Premier League record number of assists. #TheShamHallOfFame.”
Giggs did not make the shortlist, but a number of his former United team-mates did, including Patrice Evra, Teddy Sheringham, Michael Carrick, Nemanja Vidic, Edwin van der Sar and Michael Owen. Others on the list include Sol Campbell, Jermain Defoe, Cesc Fabregas, Les Ferdinand, Robbie Fowler, Eden Hazard, David Silva and Yaya Toure.
Neville and Hazard were ultimately inducted into the Hall of Fame, with the Premier League announcing the latter on Wednesday: “Eden Hazard, this is where you belong. Welcome to the Premier League Hall of Fame.”
