Matheus Cunha has been sensational since joining Manchester United, scoring his first goal for the club in the win over Brighton at Old Trafford at the weekend.
Matheus Cunha has often been compared to Manchester United legend Eric Cantona.
Brazilian ace Cunha has been a sensation since joining United from Wolves in a £62.5m deal in the summer. The attacking midfielder was the star of the show during United’s shock win against Liverpool earlier this month. And Cunha scored his first goal at Old Trafford, giving United the momentum to beat Brighton 4-2 last weekend.
Cantona remains one of the most iconic footballers in United’s history. The Frenchman lit up Old Trafford during his memorable five years at United, winning nine major trophies.
And Stephen Warnock believes Cunha has the same swagger that Cantona once had. The former Liverpool star told Esports Bets: “Mateus Cunha has been exceptional this season.

“In my opinion, he’s the best player in the Manchester United transfer window. I went to Anfield to watch the Liverpool vs. United game and I thought he was the best player by a mile on the pitch.”
“He has an arrogance that reminds me of Eric Cantona. I can see him accepting to play for Manchester United.
“It’s as if every time he steps on the pitch in a United shirt he shows people why the club signed him.
“In today’s market, £62.5m is a great deal for him and he is already one of United’s key players. He invites fouls, is quick and is clearly a goal threat.
“What I was worried about before he joined United was his work rate and pressing. But he’s starting to show he can do that too. So far he’s got a great contract.”
