Harry Kane is reported to be facing a release clause this summer, but the Bayern Munich star’s wife wants him to remain in Germany and a return to the Premier League has been called off.
Harry Kane’s wife Kate could prevent Bayern Munich marksman Harry Kane from returning to the Premier League as he continues to love life in Germany.
Kane has decided to leave his boyhood club Tottenham in 2023, opting to join the Bundesliga giants in a deal worth £100m despite interest from England. He has spent the past two-plus years paying back that expense with some sensational performances in the final third.
He scored 105 points in 109 games, finally ending his wait for a silver medal. Kane will turn 33 next summer, but there are reports that his contract will trigger a release clause worth just £56 million at the same time, and Premier League clubs are keeping an eye on him.
The England striker is open to a return, but Bild newspaper reports that his wife, 31, has made it clear she wants to remain in Germany. The couple have four children and Kate is enjoying her current lifestyle, especially the privacy the Kane family enjoys abroad.
Kane expressed personal joy at his situation, admitting: “The way people have welcomed us has been exceptional. It has touched me deeply, all of us as a family. My children are in school and they love it. My wife feels very comfortable as well. We are really enjoying every second.”

Bayern would be equally reluctant to lose Kane, but that doesn’t mean he hasn’t indicated he wants to leave. Top strikers across Europe are showing that age does not mean inevitable decline, with former club player Robert Lewandowski still impressing well into his 30s.
It is thought that Kane could eventually return to Tottenham, but would be open to joining another English team as well. The striker’s motivation for returning home is unlikely to be with his sights set on becoming the Premier League’s all-time leading goalscorer, just 47 points shy of Alan Shearer’s all-time goalscorer.
The striker recently appeared and highlighted his contribution to Bayern, who are top of the Bundesliga and one of the favorites to qualify for the Champions League. He has also talked about the possibility of a contract extension.
“I am completely in agreement with Bayern. If there are talks about an extension, we will know then, but I still have this season and the next. It’s not my last year and I’m not panicking. I’m calm, I love the Bayern coach and as long as we’re improving and as long as I’m improving, I’m happy to see what we can achieve.”
