Bruno Guimarães was caught in a flight horror show during his journey when his plane window broke and the Newcastle ace was forced back to his starting point.
Bruno Guimarães has opened up about the horror of a plane trip where windows were broken and the plane was swerved, but admitted he slept through the entire story.
Newcastle ace and club team-mate Joelinton were flying out ahead of an international mission when they saw their flight from Amsterdam to South Korea turned back due to a major malfunction. It was all part of a 12,000-mile journey that ended up taking them on separate flights to Seoul.
Guimarães helped Brazil knock off South Korea before being surprised by Japan, and admitted that he was fortunately unaware of the emergency U-turn because he had fallen asleep before everything was explained to him.
“Two windows broke on the plane. We couldn’t stop because we were in the air, so we had to fly back. So we lost a few hours. From Amsterdam to Amsterdam… I’ve never seen anything like this before.”
“I was sleeping. I just woke up and said, ‘Two hours until I get back to Amsterdam?'” I had no idea. But after they explained to me they said it was moving a lot during the flight. It wasn’t scary. Later, I realized that I had done it for a while. But it was fine during the flight. ”

Guimarães scored the winning goal in Newcastle’s last-minute win over Fulham at St James’ Park on Saturday. The midfielder missed a great chance in the second half with a header from close range, but was able to score in the final minute.
After a shaky start to the season, attention will now turn to their defense in the Carabao Cup. Eddie Howe’s side welcome Tottenham to the North East this week, with the Brazilian midfielder underscoring the determination within the squad.
“It means a lot. We want to continue to make history. We haven’t won in 70 years and we can do two games in two. This is a big possibility, a big opportunity, so we don’t want to miss it. It’s going to be a big game for us and I hope we’re ready to take advantage of the game.”
“This is a big moment, and an even bigger moment because we won last season. We want to do it again and continue to make history, against a great and very focused team.”
Guimarães lifted the trophy aloft at Wembley after the win over Liverpool, becoming the first Newcastle captain to lift the trophy in 70 years.
