Tensions escalated in the EL Clasico on Sunday after Pedri was sent off in the final stages of Barcelona’s 2-1 loss to Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabéu stadium.
Emotional players from Barcelona and Real Madrid had to keep each other in check at the end of El Clasico. Tensions escalated between the two teams, especially in stoppage time when Pedri made a lunging tackle on Aurelien Choameny, which sparked a scuffle on the sideline that involved both benches.
The Spain international received a yellow card late in the first half, and a second card came in the 10th minute of stoppage time, leaving Choameni writhing on the pitch.
A minute into the ensuing scuffle, Eder Militao was also booked. Madrid’s reserve goalkeeper Andriy Lunin also made the list despite not being on the pitch.

After the final whistle, Dani Carvajal and Lamine Yamal had a lively exchange while walking away from each other.
Marcus Rashford looked on awkwardly as he held out his hand to the boy, but belatedly responded after the altercation with the boy ended.
Eduardo Camavinga then followed Carvajal to stop Yamal, but Barcelona midfielder Marc Casado ran to intervene.
At the same time, Thibaut Courtois trotted in to join in the carnage and laid his hand on Yamal before being pushed aside by Casado.
Frenkie de Jong and Jules Kunde reacted by offering their bodies angrily at the goalkeeper’s involvement. The former received a heavy push from the Belgian international, sparking a push-and-pull match that eventually involved dozens of players from both teams.
Xabi Alonso’s Madrid eventually ran out 2-1 winners at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, extending their lead at the top of La Liga to five points. Man of the match Kylian Mbappé put the hosts ahead midway through the first half.
Jude Bellingham played a pinpoint ball to the striker before his sensational goal was ruled out for offside by the video assistant referee. Rashford then set up Fermin López for the Catalan club’s equalizer.
Bellingham pushed in from close range and within five minutes the hosts were back in the lead. Mbappé again had the ball in the back of the net just before half-time, but it was again ruled offside.
Bellingham then earned a penalty for Madrid early in the second half when the ball hit Eric Garcia’s hand. However, Mbappe’s spot-kick was saved by Wojciech Szczesny, holding Barcelona back.
Midway through the second half, Bellingham had a goal ruled out for offside during the build-up, but Madrid held on to hold on to the vital three points.
Barcelona play Elche at home on Sunday, while Real play Valencia at home on Saturday before facing Liverpool in the Champions League at Anfield three days earlier.
