Bayern Munich’s England star Harry Kane has spoken about Jobe Bellingham’s difficult move from Sunderland to Borussia Dortmund and the Bundesliga.
In Bayern Munich’s defeat of Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga, Harry Kane took to his own defense following a mistake from Jobe Bellingham. The former Sunderland player and younger brother of England star Jude failed to clear the ball, allowing Michael Oliseh to score and Bayern won 2-1.
Kane continued his incredible start to the season by scoring the opening goal in ‘Der Klassiker’. The Three Lions captain scored 12 goals and provided three assists in seven games. Meanwhile, Bellingham is finding it difficult to fit into Dortmund’s plans after his £31m move from Sunderland.
The 20-year-old was used as a rotation option and came off the bench again over the weekend. Bellingham, who came on as a substitute in the 73rd minute, intercepted a cross but was unable to deal with it properly and Oliseh ensured victory for the home side.
And despite his jubilation at the final whistle, Kane still found time to have kind words for his compatriot. However, the veteran forward admitted it was a difficult time for Bellingham.
“It was a tough situation for him. He tries to control the first pitch, but Michael Oliseh reacted well and slid into the ball.”

“It’s a shame, but he needs to keep moving forward and work hard. He’s a good player with a lot of potential.
“I think he wants to play more now, but that’s part of learning at this level. He has a great future ahead of him. He just needs to keep working.”
However, Dortmund manager Niko Kovac did not have harsh words for his young manager. If anything, he was impressed with his first play.
“I don’t see any fault with Jobe. He was standing where he was supposed to be,” the head coach said. “The ball was played very sharply. It was an artistic feat in itself that he didn’t score an own goal.”
“When the ball comes in so sharply, his first job is to maintain his center of gravity. He kept his head down, but Oliseh took advantage of that moment and slipped in. That (situation) is not simple. There is no fault. I think everything is fine in that situation.”
Bellingham’s start at Dortmund was under a cloud as his father Mark was at odds with members of the club hierarchy. On the first day, Kovac came on as a substitute from his summer signing at half-time.
Mark was reportedly furious and got into a heated argument with Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl. As a result, he was banned from the locker room area as the club sought to only allow club staff.
England legend Sir Geoff Hurst called Mark Bellingham’s actions an “absolute disgrace”. “One of the things that annoyed me was that there was a picture in one of the newspapers about the most powerful man in English football, and that was Jude Bellingham’s father,” Hirst said.
“When my son was left out of a game, he complained, but it’s a complete joke. If we don’t stamp out things like that, it’s an absolute shame.”
